“Gordola” takes its name from the place where the work was created and from the memory it carries. The title becomes an intimate reference, connected to personal memory and to the person to whom the work was gifted: my mother.
The layered surfaces evoke weathered walls and inner landscapes, where every mark preserves an emotional trace. The canvas thus becomes a surface of memory, where experience, affection and place intertwine.
The contrasts suggest a dialogue between presence and remembrance, between what remains visible and what belongs to the emotional realm.
“Gordola” becomes an expression of gratitude and belonging a testament to a bond that continues to live through the painting.
