“Orphic Twins” holds a rich layer of meaning, mystery and reflection on complex themes, where myth, emotion and symbolism intertwine. The two works can be seen as two distinct yet inseparable presences, embodying the balance between complementary elements: each form finds completion in the other, like two missing parts of a single essence.
The twins symbolise duality and complementarity light and shadow, life and death, body and soul while the adjective “Orphic” evokes Orpheus, expressed through a mythical, celestial turquoise that becomes a metaphor for the hidden depths contained within each layer.
The painting suggests an inner and spiritual journey, shaped by an exploration of dualities and by the dialogue between reason and instinct, rationality and passion. The two mirrored paintings, though distinct, share an unbreakable bond: separating them would interrupt an essential dialogue and diminish the full strength that emerges when they remain together.
“Orphic Twins” thus becomes a single visual and spiritual experience, one to be encountered in its entirety.
