Inspiration:
The painting seems to speak with a silent voice, made of matter, scratches, and translucent layers that settle over one another like distant memories. Its irregular, weathered surface suggests the slow passage of time. Each stratum appears as the fragment of something once hidden or rewritten, suspended between what resurfaces and what dissolves away.
The darker, denser central band feels like a mysterious core: it might evoke an origin, a presence, or perhaps a wound the canvas continues to hold without ever fully revealing.
Though devoid of recognisable forms, the painting carries an emotional pull. It invites reflection on what persists and what remains as residue. It does not describe, nor does it narrate; rather, it hints and intrigues, like the faint glimmers of gold that emerge from beneath its surface. In this way, it becomes a kind of philosophical mirror, open to anyone who pauses to look.
