I called this work “Traces” because, when viewed up close, raised marks emerge from the surface that seem to belong to a distant past almost like fragments of something we can no longer identify.
The turquoise runs through both pieces, creating a visual connection between them: a thread that returns, linking one to the other and creating a quiet dialogue.
I am fascinated by the idea that nothing truly disappears. Everything passes through time and leaves a trace, visible or invisible.
I don’t want to define what these marks are meant to tell us. I leave space for the viewer to recognise something of their own, as if the past could quietly resurface in different forms.
